IMONO (鋳型)
by My Store Admin
Every form starts somewhere.
IMONO is the first collection by KATAYORI and the foundation of everything that follows.
The name draws from the Japanese term IMONO (鋳型), referring to the idea of a mold: a form used to shape material into something new. For KATAYORI, that process became a metaphor for creation itself.
Raw material. Pressure. Transformation. Form.
IMONO represents the moment an idea becomes physical.
FORGED FROM DEVIATION
KATAYORI was built around the idea of deviation.
The name originates from a term used in metrology to describe a deviation from a defined value. What would normally be considered an irregularity became the philosophy behind the brand.
Because identity does not come from perfectly following an existing form.
It comes from breaking away from it.
IMONO translates this philosophy into the first physical expression of KATAYORI — combining influences from metal, industrial environments, Japanese aesthetics and contemporary high-end streetwear.
The collection exists between contrasts: raw and refined, heavy and minimal, controlled and imperfect.
THE FIRST FORM
At the center of IMONO are oversized silhouettes, heavyweight fabrics and carefully placed details.
The Kabutomushi Shirt and Ryukai Shirt, both constructed from heavyweight 260 GSM fabric, establish the visual language of the collection through oversized proportions and graphic elements.
Alongside the garments, jewelry introduces another side of the KATAYORI universe.
The sculptural Kabutomushi Ring and necklace translate organic forms into stainless steel, while the Saku Socks, featuring The Fairy, complete the collection with a smaller but distinctive expression of the brand's identity.
Each piece stands individually.
Together, they form the first chapter.
MATERIAL. FORM. IDENTITY.
Metal has always been more than an aesthetic reference for KATAYORI.
It represents resistance, permanence and transformation.
A material can appear cold and uncompromising, yet through pressure, heat and craftsmanship it can be shaped into almost anything.
IMONO follows the same principle.
The collection takes influences that would normally exist separately — industrial culture, organic forms, Japanese references, Heavy Metal and high-end fashion — and forces them into one visual language.
Not to follow an established category.
But to create our own.
THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING
IMONO was never designed to explain everything KATAYORI will become.
It is the starting point.
The first experiment.
The first physical manifestation of an idea that will continue to evolve with every collection.
Future releases will introduce new materials, silhouettes, objects and interpretations of the world surrounding KATAYORI.
But every evolution needs an origin.
IMONO is ours.
KATAYORI - DEVIATE FROM THE NORM.
